This Xanadu Twin Fin is a classic example of Fish Surfboards. Featuring a flatter entry rocker with a rounder outline, "wider nose, wider tail is a fundamental characteristic of most fish surfboards" and make up for the shorter length of the board. This Fish surfboard should be ridden 6″ shorter than a performance shortboard as the widest point is a lot further forward then most boards offering plenty of buoyancy for such a short surfboard. This Fish Surfboard It also has a flatter deck which makes the rails fuller for more buoyancy for a better performance in smaller, flatter waves, if you find your board at the moment bogs in small waves, this could be the board for you. It can be ridden as a tri-fin, twin fin, or with a small trailer fin, making it adaptable to all conditions. Ships with Future compatible glass constructed fins.
The Xanadu twin fin is a great example of how timeless the fish's really are, over 40 years since the birth of the first fish surfboards and our current generations shapes still share aspects which has not changed much since they were first created. Characteristics like fish-like out line, with a sharp nose and swallow tail. The beauty of them is that they match almost all skill levels, their width adds great stability and their shortness results in tighter turning arc, so for light beginner surfers they van be great as well as performance riders looking for a fun board in smaller waves. With their shortened length and extra width with a pulled in tail and nose producing a large arc in the outline of the board, they have a tendency to be highly maneuverable. The only draw back for beginner surfers are they can be a little bit sensitive, and the only draw back for advanced surfers in big waves is their tight turning circle gets a bit skatie. In bigger waves you need a more drawn out plan shape simply to draw your turns out in bigger waves! When it comes down to it fish surfboards are perfect for the intermediate stage!
