Decorating a bathroom for a child can be overwhelming. Now days, there are so many great kids bathroom accessories, it's difficult to know how to choose or where to start. So if you've been stuck in a decorating rut, here's three fun and unique bathroom decorating ideas to help you out. And the best part is, there easy on the budget too.
The Beach Bum Bath
Everyone loves to go on vacation, especially to the beach. But what if you could bring the beach home with you? Then everyday would feel like a vacation. Pick a vibrant color palette reminiscent of your time spent seaside. Now add a vinyl surfboard wall decal and some fun "this way to the beach" signs. Some well placed vacation photos will go a long way is setting the mood. Use varying size tin buckets to hold sea creature shaped soaps and hand towels. Start collecting old pairs of sunglasses by purchasing them at yard sales or thrift stores. Use them to make a boarder around your bathroom mirror. Plant a fun beach umbrella inside the laundry hamper. Now you're ready for some fun in the sun!
The Cowpokes Bathroom
Do you have a cowboy or cowgirl at your house? Then turn their bathroom into a home on the range. Decoupage your walls to create a faux leather look using torn pieces of brown craft paper. Use a saddle display to drape bathroom towels. Often times you can find inexpensive used saddles at yard sales and flea markets. Spur toilet paper holders can be found at specialty retailers. Another great accessory to use for decoration is vintage cap guns. They can be found easily on ebay and are usually pretty inexpensive. And last but not least, what would a cowboy bathroom be without some cowboy art. What will it cost you? Nothing other than the price of a sheet of paper and some printer ink. The Dino Dig
Pull out the kraft paper again. This time we are going to use to to create fossil walls! Decoupage the wall using torn piece of kraft paper. Once the paper is dry and secured to the walls, use fern, nautilus and fish skeleton rubber stamps to create a fossil wall. Let your kids get in on the fun by creating plaster of paris fossil plaques. Make sure to create a hole in the plaque before it dries so it can be displayed on the wall. Using a stencil, create dinosaur tracks across your vanity or along the wall or floor. If you don't want to buy a stencil, simply cut a firm sponge in the shape of a dinosaur track and use it as a stamp. Now you have one fantastic prehistoric bathroom.
